University of Maryland, Philip Merrill College of Journalism, College Park, MD. Major in journalism with a concentration in print news and a minor in philosophy. B.A. anticipated May 2010.

Salzburg Academy, Seminar on Media and Global Change, Salzburg, Austria. Completed an intensive three-week program with professional journalists and students from around the globe to create a teaching utility to inform students on media literacy and the news gathering process. Discussed methods of increasing communication and understanding across borders with members of UNAoC and UNESCO. Salzburg Academy membership received August 2008.

JOURNALISM EXPERIENCE:

Field Equipment Manager, UMTV College Park, MD
Checked in/out video cameras, routinely fixed video and photo cameras,completed weekly inventory, assisted students in shooting and editing for Jour 262, Jour 361 and Capital News Service.

September 2008–May 2009.

Intern & Contributor, Prince George’s Sentinel Seabrook, MD
Wrote numerous stories for the county paper, ranging from local politics to business and art exhibits. Weekly circulation of 20,000.
October 2008–November 2009.
